We had our first photoshoot of the year today for our 2012 S/S online wholesale website; and it turned out pretty well; besides the rain. Thank God! that it was a indoor photo shoot. Our 2 models were excellent and we had sushi for lunch. yumss :9*

Good Morning Everyone!

How was is your first week of 2012 going? First week of 2012 is already gone; and it feels like it was just yesterday when I was celebrating for the New Year.

ANYWAYS... I have two things to update you guys on and one will be our resolution and the other one will be on 1st SHOW of the year.

Lets start off with our resolution of the year. Monoreno resolution.... I know everyone makes a resolution for the new year and some are kept and some are broken; but that is the whole point of making one. Aren't I right? ^^ What can we promise and be kept?

1. Update our blog more frequently.

2. Reach out to our fans more .

3. Expand our brand more (ex: international wise & Fashion magazine, newspaper, and etc).

4. Find a name for our lovely Monoreno Fans (Since calling Monoreno Fans is SOOOOOOOOO BORING)

5. Make our yearly goal on sales.

I think this is good for now. Too much resolution leads to no where and you end up not making any of them. RIGHT?

NOW... IT'S TIME TO ANNOUNCE OUR VERY OWN FIRST SHOW OF THE YEAR....

We'll be kicking of 2012 with THE FAME SHOW at the Javits Convention Center.

2011 is almost over! (We literally have 2 more days left) I am sad and excited at the same time to say my farewell to 2011 and greet 2012.

2011 was an awesome year for me and our Monoreno Team; and I hope 2012 treats us well!!!

This past weekend at MAGIC we had a blast, but I am glad to be back home. The convention seems to be growing each show. This August the iconic French fashion show, PRET A PORTER PARIS, has partnered with WWDMAGIC to launch the “HEART OF PRET,” a collaboration that will provide Better-to-Bridge retailers access to the creme de la creme in French apparel brands. You can read more about that here.

We were located in central hall, right next to desigual, towards the end of the hall by the exit. You really can't miss us - we have mannequins guarding and welcoming you at every entry point possible. I've included images for your viewing pleasure. We had our photo shoot this past Wednesday! It will be MONORENO's FALL and WINTER 2011 Catalog. I know there are many of you who were asking when we would publish our next catalog- no need to fear - it's in production! These pictures don't do justice ...

Nonetheless, this was a location shoot and we traveled everywhere around Downtown, Los Angeles including the Art District.For lunch, we ate Pit Fire pizza :)

The show this time around seemed smaller ... The FAME show in May is around the same time as the New York Auto Show. Additionally, with Mother's Day so close and Obama in NYC that week there were quite a few obstacles and adjusting we had to do. Nonetheless, we had a pretty great show.

SPOTLIGHT: Grand Opening with Jessica from Jaded the Boutique

1) What is the "Jaded the Boutique" story?

Jaded the Boutique was a dream in my heart that I never thought would be fulfilled. It was just an idea that seemed unattainable. I just kind of thought "maybe if I marry a terribly rich man and all I have to do is sit at home and look pretty, he'll put up the money to allow me to open my own dress store!" Instead, I married a very hard working man that loves me very much and for us to live the life style we both enjoy, we both work. I never gave the dress shop idea much more thought after I graduated from college with a Psychology degree with a Business minor, and started working for my father at his truck driving business. My dad had the offer to sell his company in December – and he invested in my boutique. I literally started crying because this was a dream come true! That was a little over 2 months ago, and our Grand Opening is next month!

2) How about your boutique name?

The name Jaded comes from my middle name, Jade. I feel like this store is an extension of myself. It's my goal to be a refreshing place to shop for women that have become "jaded" by their past shopping experiences and want something new and different.

3) How did you hear about MONORENO?

I found Monoreno at my first Market in Dallas this past January while trying to find exactly the style that Jaded would be. This ended up being the most popular brand I have! I just stumbled upon the booth when I was at Market.

4) What do you love most about our brand?

I love your clothes and price points! I love that Monoreno is such reasonably priced and so unique! That's exactly what Jaded is all about. I love that know that I have seen, and own, the clothes in person, I feel comfortable enough to just order from Monoreno.com. I don't have to question whether the clothes will fit like they did in the pictures or if the fabric will be low quality; I know it will be just what it looks like it is.

5) What's your favorite thing in your closet and why?

Currently, the favorite things in my closet are clothes from my store that I wear just so people will ask "where did you get that cute top?" and I can respond with "Jaded! You have to come check us out!"

Jaded is located on Airline Drive in Bossier City, Louisiana. Their grand Opening, April 9th, with a Fashion Show at 1:00 with cupcakes, cake pops, and drinks. This sounds like such a fun event! Jessica is expecting at least 200 in attendance.

This weekend, Saturday the 12th to be specific we are shooting for our Summer 2011 catalog. Our new styles and designs for summer are pretty great!

The Life of a Traveling Rep: Finally Home from Dallas and Atlanta

Ok, so we just got back from a crazy two weeks! From Los Angeles to Dallas to Atlanta and now finally back to Los Angeles. But, it was all good times along the way!

First stop: Dallas Texas
Dallas is always great to visit; so many amazing people giving away smiles that always brighten up my day. We had a great time from our outrageous meals to meeting all our great customers.

Now Atlanta is always fun, but it was super cold this time. Unfortunately, I admit, I did not refer to our very own blog on how to pack! Yikes, do I regret that! I completely did not think about where I was going and what I would need for this trip, so I was without anything actually warm enough for the weather here. I suffered the whole trip with merely a light leather jacket. Live and learn! But, its all worth it seeing our great customers here. Also, check out one of our celebrity customers below ;)

How To Travel: Pack Like A Pro, Yet Fashionably

From the perfect suitcase, your must-have items, down to your packing strategy - the Monoreno team has it covered.

Our office is PRETTY EXCITED. At least I am! I am in one of those too-much-coffee-in-the-morning-AND-can't-keep-still modes. The Monoreno team is leaving for New York City tonight in preparation for the FAME Show. Let me add a "woot-woot". There's nothing more exciting than preparing to leave for a trip, in my opinion, that is. Even for a weekend, week, or one day. The idea is somewhat cathartic and well, wonderful. Here is the Monoreno teams two cents on easy and stress-free packing.

3 MUST-HAVE items
Comfortable shoes is unanimously the MUST-HAVE item (see below). My list doesn't differ too much, I would list iphone as MUST MUST MUST, of course comfy shoes, and one warm versatile coat that could be worn both day and night. I figure anything else you need, you could purchase. The Monoreno team list:

underwear, wallet, iphone
flats, warm coat, scarf
dinner outfits, multiple flats, comfortable clothes to set-up
comfortable shoes, shower slippers, kindle

Packing Strategy
Packing is a skill. Some can pack in one minute, this would be the highly-skilled-packers and others take hours debating and cross checking all their items - ahem, this would be me. Where do you place? I guess it would depend on your journey and purpose of your trip. "I usually pack all dark clothes- gets you through longer and is easily coordinated with anything", our wise director recommends. Members from our sales team advises, "Only pack what you absolutely need, roll up clothes (they take up less space), and pack shoes separate from each other so they take up less space", "Just pack comfortable."

"If you have to think twice about an item before packing it, chances are you most likely don't need it."

So apparently, we're one of the last ones to jump on the Facebook, Twitter and Blogging bandwagon.. BUT! Better late than never right?

A lot of exciting new developments have been going on for us near the end of the year! New website in the works, Spring 2010 catalog photoshoot... Wait- that's actually about it.. Sounds like it's not much once it's written down!... But really, it's been a whirlwind trying to balance all of our new projects along with getting for the January tradeshows and making sure all of our orders are processed.

Whew~ So without further ado, here are some of the fruits of our labor!
